Graduation is here, but before I get on that topic let me start by saying this maybe my last blog for a while since I might be getting a job and my senior year of high school is over, but I do hope to continue this blog or open a new one for video games or cooking. Next let me start off with a Doctor Seuss quote:”Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting. So… get on your way.” the reason I chose this quote is because it’s true for all graduates, its our day and its time to start.

With graduation here many events are in motion, like parties. Most families have large parties with friends and family with party platters to feed everyone. mine is like that with one difference, my food is made by me and my father. We’ll have pulled pork, home made salsa, burgers, and hot dogs. But the part I’m most happy for is the family, since my cousin who I’m related to by marriage will be there and I haven’t seen him since the summer of 2008 and we are really good friends. the part that most graduates look forward to, I looked over, I didn’t think about, the gifts, but ever since my mom brought it up I’ve been looking forward to since I hate surprises. She told me she knows what my Grandma is getting me and she always gets a big great present and now I’ve been trying to think of what it is.

Next there’s Project Grad, which is just a big party for all the seniors from all 3 schools in the district go to. what I can’t wait for is the casino part since I love to play poker. there’s also a raffle where there’s a multitude of prizes which the raffle off at the end of the night. then theres a beauty room where they do make overs, but in recent years they added a gory part to it where they can make it look like you were just in a car accident. Then there’s a computer gaming room where if you brought your laptop you can use it in there. Then there’s just a chill spot for you and your friends to go hang out and talk or sleep since it goes 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM.

So to finish what may be my final blog I’ll repeat Dr. Seuss: “Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting. So… get on your way.”and I’ll leave with a line of my own dream your dreams and one day they’ll be a reality. I live by that and I’m on my way to own my own restaurant

Finally my favorite series for the Xbox 360 is coming outwith the 3rd game in the series. Unfortunately very little is known about it, all that is known is that Karen Traviss, author of 2 of the gears of war books, is writing the plot line for the game. also the release date is April 5th 2011, the choice for this date is because they didn’t want to compete against halo reach or the Christmas game sales. though most people speculate that the game will be well worth the wait.

for those of you who don’t know the gears of war series, it’s a game series that takes place during a post apocalyptic war against an alian race known as the locus. The story follows delta squad and its leader Marcus Flint, as he and his 3 other squad mates elimanating the locus.

On December 26, 2004 Indonesia was hit by a Tsunami. It had recorded waves as high as 30 meters (100 ft.). There were nearly 230,000 deaths that occurred that day and the countries hit the hardest were Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India, and Thailand.

At 12:58 AM on December 26, 2004 there was an earthquake off the coast of Sumatra, Indonesia. With a Magnitude between 9.1 and 9.3 making it the second most powerful earthquake in recorded history. At 10:25 AM there was an early warning of what was coming, the water line was receded very far back. But unfortunately nobody saw the warning signs and nearly 230,000.

The response to this disaster was great. The United Nations sent emergency humanitarian help, which consisted of housing, health care, education, transportation, water and sanitation services. Though it wasnt just nations leaders coming together, it was their people too. With an estimated 10 billion dollars of damage, international public and private pledges raised over 4 billion dollars. With many beaches covered with debris volunteers help clean them through out weeks after the disaster. With all the help that came it seems like countries can put aside there differences and work together to save others from a disaster like this.

I’ve recently became the owner of the Xbox 360, and I got to say it’s great. I own one of the older titles and even in it the graphics are amazing compared to some of the newer games. When it first came out there was only one game series people were drawn to, Halo. Now people have quite a few series that are amazing, like the Gears of War series and the Bioshock series. Then there are the multi system games, like the Call of Duty series, and Final Fantasy series.

Right now the Xbox 360 has 2 different models, Arcade which is the most basic model and the cheapest, then the Elite, which has a flat black finish, instead of the white the Arcade has. On top of that it 215 GB memory compared to the 512 MB with the Arcade. Also the Elite Almost always has a bundle, which includes a game, two controllers, and downloadable content for your Xbox Avatar.

As I said there are bundles for the Xbox, and some had a new color scheme, like for Halo 3 the Xbox had a green and gold color scheme controllers to match. Then there was the Resident Evil package, which had a red and black color scheme and a black and red head set. Also when the Simpsons movie came out they made 100 special edition yellow Xbox 360 which were given away 10 times a day for 10 days. In which people were pick randomly from a drawing.

Though like every new system there were problems, the Xbox 360 in the beginning had problems with the system failure. What would happen is that three red lights would appear on the system and once you turned it off it would not turn back on. Since the 3 lights would show up where the system tells you how many controllers are active (up to 4 controllers at one time.) and it formed a ring, it became known as the red ring of death. Though if you had a warranty on it Microsoft would fix it for free and send it back to you. In one case a man sent in his Xbox that he customized himself with halo stickers and skins and when it was sent back it looked like a regular Xbox 360 Arcade. So he told Microsoft, and they sent him a one of a kind Xbox deck out in everything halo and signed by Halo’s lead designer.

Today gaming has become all about completing that goal of yours, and Microsoft knew just what to do to up those goal achievements. Achievements are goals set up for certain things in the game. Some are simple like complete this level, then there are moderate like kill this many people/creatures. Then there are insane ones like kill the final boss on the hardest difficulty only using this weapon. But not all the achievements don’t take place in the story, some you get by playing online. They may take awhile to get because they have an insane number of kills or saves to get, but they’re always fun to get. Though the achievements aren’t just for fun, they give you points for the Xbox Store, which I’ll go over later.

Next there’s Xbox Live which just online play. Though with the Xbox’s massive library of shooter games, everybody plays online most of the time, so it’s always fun. Yet now you can trash talk the other players since they included a headset for your system. Though to use live you need to have a wireless router for your Xbox to connect to.

Finally there’s the Xbox Store where you can buy movies and have them saved to your system, or buy bonus missions for some of your games, or buy things for your Xbox Avatar. Also you can buy classic titles like mega man in the Xbox Store. . For these things you can either pay with a credit card or use the achievement points I mentioned earlier.

Some cool features I didn’t mention before was how you can hook up your IPod and crank your favorite song while dropping all those noobs on the other team. Also you can customize your Xbox background theme.

Soon the SF 49′ers may become the Santa Clara 49′ers. Which to me is a big mistake. they have all ready run into the big problem of parking. The city of Santa Clara has said they’re going to use some 41,000 parking stalls of empty businesses on sundays, but what about the Monday night games? Will businesses let people start parking there at 4:30? If they are planning to do this the city of Santa Clara needs to think this whole thing over and maybe put the statium in 2011 so they can fix every flaw and talk it out with all the businesses and then will they be ready for the stadium. Also I’ve always been a huge Niner fan, so I’d hate to see them leave San Fransico to go play in a new city thats about an hour more drive to go see them play, I remember going to my uncles, walking to the bottom of the hill, hopping on Bart and going to the game. Plus the parking still sounds like a distaster to me.

All in all, I just think Santa Clara wants to get reconized more, so they’re trying to put in a stadium to get it.

It seems like every game company is cutting back on the price on their game system. most recently the Nintendo Wii is cutting back on it’s price. It’s gone from $249.99 to $199.99. A $50 dollar saving doesn’t seem like much, but with that price saving you could buy a new game. Add the 9% sales tax in Rohnert Park and you save $54.50. the first system to do the price cuts is the game system that I feel is doing the worst in sales, the play station 3. when it first came out for the basic price was $500, and now its down to $300. Also the XBox 360 has gone from $300 dollars to $199.99. And on black Friday at Wal-mart, there was a great deal on the XBox, for $200 dollars you got the 2 Madagascar movies and the Madagascar 2 game. I also heard from a friend that at Game Stop they had a deal going on where if you buy a XBox 360, you would get to pick a game for free.

With all these deals out there it’s pretty hard to choose a game system to buy, and I find that there is no game system better than the others since the all have problems, but i’ll leave the choice to you.

I feel that there is a chance in 2012 that some disaster could occur. I don’t think it will be a disaster that people think the Mayans predicted. The reason I don’t believe this is because they have found more of the Mayans calendars. Plus I never really believed in that kind of superstitious nonsense.  What I do believe will happen is that there could be a Nuclear war because someone somewhere hit the big red button that fires that countries nuclear missiles at some big country and that starts a huge nuclear war. Or one other way it could happen is that some country becomes angry at a comment from some world leader and fires his missiles. also we may have another corrupt leader that wants on race eliminated and some other countries my agree with him and join with them and of course there is always a group that opposes them and there’s starts World War 3. Next there is something similar, but is more of an accident. Somehow computers crash everywhere and nuclear power plants have meltdowns and our world becomes a radioactive waste land where no organism could survive.

Next we could be hit by a super solar flare that destroys the earths already weakened magnetic poles, then we are exposed to more solar flares that would turn the earth into a barren wasteland. The way I got this idea is from watching the movie “Knowing”,my idea doesn’t have aliens collecting people to start a new world.

One idea I leave out is global warming is because I don’t beleive that it will destroy the world in the next two years, but thats just me, you have your own appinion to what could happen, and when it could.

The Snoopy ice rink in Santa Rosa was used for the creation of NHL2K11, but you wont recognize any part of the rink for this game, but the business 2K sports based in Novato rented the ice rink for the week with 56 video cameras to catch the movements of Eric Peter-Kaiser, an actor, and Christian Lalonde, a Hollywood writer and producer, both hockey fans. During the week they had the rink they filmed 1,300 different moves, that’s over 180 different moves a day. During the making they had them shoot on their own goals to practice what they call “little Billy Syndrome” as in, you never know what little Billy will want to do when he grabs that controller. If this game becomes the next big game Santa Rosa residents can take pride in knowing their ice rink made it possible.
